Ecogen was formed to provide a solution to unlock small and medium scale housing development in Norfolk stalled by Nutrient Neutrality.  

How do we achieve this?

We source and create nutrient credits and supply them to the local developer and self-builder market.

We source nutrient credits by working with property and business owners to fully fund improvement work to their foul drainage system – this predominantly focuses on replacing septic tanks with new sewage treatment plants, but can also include new connections to mains foul drainage where available.  Designed correctly these replacements result in vastly reduced amounts of phosphorus and nitrogen effluents finding their way into Norfolk’s waterways.

We supply credits to Norfolk developers and self-builders, to meet Nutrient Neutrality requirements for proposed developments in the affected catchments.  Once appointed we offer a complimentary review of your nutrient neutrality calculations to identify potential amendments to reduce your development’s need for credits.
